THEY DID IT!
CONGRATULATIONS are in order for our Thai-Laos Cycle Challenge team, who have completed the mammoth undertaking of over 400 hilly kilometres in the smog and heat to raise almost £220,000 for MAG – INCREDIBLE!
Beginning in Chiang Rai in Thailand, the team cycled north to the border with Laos, crossing the Friendship Bridge to continue their journey along the Mekong through Pak Beng, Oudomxay and Pak Mong up towards the historic capital of Luang Prabang. The team endured some gruelling hills and sharp descents, all while battling the most intense smog that the region has seen in years, but achieved it all with good humour and camaraderie.
The amount raised for MAG by the Bikes Against Bombs team in 2023 was the highest amount yet and exceeded the fundraising target by almost£50,000 thanks to the extraordinary generosity of the Wholesale and Convenience sector, family, friends, colleagues and hard work of the team.
The vital funds raised by the Thai-Laos Cycle Challenge will support MAG to clear landmines, diffuse explosive weapons, and provide lifesaving education to communities all around the world sadly affected by past and present conflicts.
